Numismatica's mission is to provide numismatic information on the Internet. The objectives of this site focus on the two basic components: information and the Internet.
Information
Numismatica will provide comprehensive numismatic
information.
Archiving
This site will include existing numismatic texts whenever possible. If
there's a FAQ for some area of numismatics, you'll find it here.
References
This site will point to other sources of numismatic information. If it's
not here, it's just one link away. Numismatica will also
describe what's on the other end, to help you decide where to go.
Originality
This site will contain original content. Numismatica will
strive to create and provide its own unique numismatic resources.
Copyright
This site respects intellectual property. Everything here either is
redistributed with the author's permission or is in the public domain.
This does not necessarily mean that you can copy anything here.
You should contact the author about the work in its original form and/or
Numismatica about the work in its HTML form.
The Internet
Numismatica will be an exemplary citizen of the Internet.
Speed
This site will perform acceptably over slow modem lines. You'll never be
forced to wait for huge inline images or annoying backgrounds.
Device-independence
This site will use the cleanest, most portable HTML formatting possible.
Numismatica will work well with any browser from Lynx to
Netscape.
Hypertext
This site will use the capabilities of hypertext. At the very least, all
documents will contain links for navigation and cross-referencing.
Searching
This site will provide searching capabilities. Since we're using
computers, why not put them to good use?
